During his Ph.D. studies, Dr de Jager co-founded and sold another venture-backed software company, completing the sale
five days before graduation. With equity backing from three of
Europe's leading early-stage venture capital
firms—The
Accelerator Group (TAG), SAMOS and
Arts Alliance—the company
provided information retrieval services to the likes of DMGT, Trinity
Mirror, Fish4 and the Evening Standard.
